The Metal Box Options (Modern Performance)
- Atira Drawer Box – Standard: The reliable foundation. This system uses powder-coated, soft-closing, bottom-mounted metal sides with a double metal bearing suspension system. It offers full extension and is engineered for a load capacity of 25kg. (Note: Standard 520mm vanities feature a 470mm depth.)
- Antaro Drawer Box – Upgrade: A step up in performance. This upgrade features powder-coated, soft-closing, metal full extension slides using a double metal bearing and suspension system. It has a standard load capacity of 30kg, increasing to 65kg on drawers wider than 39 inches. (Note: Standard depth is 500mm.)
- Legrabox Drawer Box – Upgrade: The ultimate in sleek, modern design. Available in Grey or White, this soft-close system is impressively slim (just ½” thick) and performs outstandingly even when fully extended. It boasts high carrying capacities of 40kg on 6″ H drawers and 70kg on wider drawers. For a truly high-end look, it pairs perfectly with Orion Grey melamine interiors. (Note: Standard depth is 550mm; vanities are 500mm depth.)
The Classic Wood Box Option (Timeless Durability)
- Plywood Dovetail Drawer Box – Upgrade: This classic option is made with ½” Birch Plywood using dovetail construction, available for cabinets from 10 ½” W up to 42″ W maximum. It uses the highly reliable Movento Runner System and is engineered with a standard capacity of 40kg and 60kg on wider drawers. (Note: Standard depth is 550mm; vanities are 500mm depth.)
Matching Performance to Purpose
Choosing the right drawer box depends on where it will be used. A Legrabox or Plywood Dovetail is ideal for heavy-duty storage areas like large pot drawers (handling that 60-70kg capacity), while the Atira provides excellent performance for cutlery and lighter utensils. All options guarantee smooth, soft-closing operation, protecting your cabinetry and providing a premium feel.
